Meet the Jungian Analysts

I am an Istanbul-born Jungian Analyst trained ISAP Zurich.

I grew up in Istanbul, a city that literally and metaphorically bridges Europe and Asia. It is a place of transition where one can feel the unique blend of East and West, an aspect with which the stambouliotes closely identify.

I left home first for my bachelor studies in Upstate New York and then came to Lausanne for my master’s. Before settling with my husband and two cats in Biel/Bienne, I lived 7 years in Zürich.

Having started my career in the financial sector and corporate world, I gradually realized that my job was not fulfilling to me. This led me to seek Jungian analysis, which helped me navigate through a challenging but ultimately rewarding period of change, leading to a transformative experience.

The combination of a lack of suitable and meaningful work and my growing interest in the Jungian approach brought me to ISAP, where I have pursued my Jungian Analyst formation since 2015. I had a private practice in Zurich until 2023, and now I work online and in person in Biel/Bienne and Bern. I conduct my sessions in English, French, and Turkish. I am rooted in the Jungian approach and have trained in several modalities, including the Enneagram, and mindfulness. I work in person in my practice in the heart of Zurich as well as online on Zoom. My practice is an inclusive and safe space.

I am passionate about offering therapy that integrates Western psychology and Eastern approaches to healing. On my own path of growth, I am reclaiming feminine wisdom, and learning to decolonize. I bring my Indian upbringing into my therapy practice through attention to breath, ancestral honouring, cyclical approaches to growth and a (hopefully) healthy respect for chaos.


I am a certified Enneagram professional and offer group workshops and individual type discovery sessions. I am a student of Thomas Hubl's ground breaking work on healing collective trauma. I’ve experienced both privilege and marginalisation, and look at issues of class, power dynamics, race etc in a systemic way. Everybody is welcome in my practice.

In another avatar, I am the co-director of the award-winning documentary film Delhi Dreams that screened in Swiss cinemas and film festivals worldwide. Delhi Dreams is the story of a country in flux seen through the eyes of three incredible young people in Kathputli Colony, an artist community in the heart of Delhi, India’s capital. The film explores how large forces like globalization, a colonial past, and social marginalization affect the individual psyche.

My career has given me the honor of inhabiting vastly different worlds across cultures and socioeconomic situations. So, I know in my bones that there are a million different ways of being human. And finally, I am a relatable therapist on her journey, too. I undergo regular supervision to minimize my blind spots in the work. I am continuously learning how to navigate with love and grace the inevitable challenges my one precious life throws up, to steal the words of Mary Oliver, one of my favourite poets.

My practice is informed and enriched by the everyday magic of motherhood. I live in Zurich with my Indo-Swiss family.

Margot Estabrook Stienstra is a Jungian Analyst, and Psychotherapist in private practice with stage-of-life and culturally diverse clients in Zürich, Switzerland. Born in Boston, MA, USA, she has lived her adult life in Asia and Europe, for the past couple of decades primarily in Switzerland. Formal education includes a B.A. in (European) History, the Arts & Letters and an unofficial minor in the history of Chinese thought.

She holds a Masters in International Management. Her diploma thesis culminating training at ISAP ZH in 2014 was entitled: "Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt- Exploring the archetypal interface between two modalities: CBT and Jung’s Analytical Psychology."

Her professional interests are in making room for spaciousness and time in body-mind, for marginalized parts, for emergence and individuation, in the life of the soul, via religion and education, the arts and ecopsychology.

I was born and raised in central Hungary, but since I finished my Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering in Budapest in 2009, I have lived abroad. I completed my Master’s degree in Business Informatics in the Netherlands, and after that I worked as an IT engineer in Amsterdam.

However, during this time, something deep within me gave a vague, yet unmistakable nudge: that I must continue my search for my vocation somewhere else. And so, I started Jungian analysis.

As my analysis developed, the prospect of becoming a Jungian analyst myself was enticing. But switching from IT to working with the soul seemed such a big leap that I did not believe that these promptings can be taken seriously. As the years went by, the promptings turned into a necessity. Finally, in 2017, I moved to Zürich, and I was able to start my training at ISAPZURICH, and eventually became a Jungian analyst.

Navigating major life changes, such as the one I have gone through, forms the heart of my analytical practice.
