Its beginnings go back to the summer classes of Jungian Psychology taught by Rose Yenko in 1991 at the Ateneo University's Psychology Graduate School. Rose started organizing the Friends of Jung Society back then.

Eventually Dido Gustilo-Villasor, Sophie Sim-Bate, and Bernie Nepomuceno joined forces in teaching the course. They opened this course to the public in 2001 and thereafter formed a Jung Study Group composed of their dedicated students.

In 1995 the Jung Festival was organized as a major effort in launching Jungian Psychology in the Philippine consciousness. Lectures on Jungian Psychology were spread across five months, capped by a week-long lecture series conducted by Kathrin Asper, a Jungian analyst from the Carl Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. As an output of the Festival, two books-Lectures on the Filipino Unconscious, and Kathrin Asper Lecture Series were published with the support of the Ateneo Office of Research and Publication. The Asper book was recognized as a scholarly publication by ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) which contributed to the academic status of Ateneo de Manila University.

In the 90’s other advocates and supporters of Jungian Psychology included Fe Cadaquit (who helped ground the two books), Ricky Rafael, Raj Mansukhani, Seann Tan-Mansukhani, Mary Ellen de Jesus, Gail Rivera, Carl Diaz (whose AGAPE Ateneo Psych grad students community building work foreshadowed the FOJ community), Bernie Quimpo, Babes Lioanag, Angel Antonio, Barbara Gonzalez, and AJ Sagmit.

In 2007, the group formally organized and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as The Carl Jung Circle Center. Today CJCC offers monthly public workshops at Ateneo Rockwell. The CJCC faculty is composed of the following qualified lecturers and workshop facilitators: Rose Marie Yenko, Dido Gustilo-Villasor,PhD, Bernadette Nepomuceno, Sophie Sim-Bate, Liza Rondain, MD, Rene Samaniego, MD, Joji Racelis, Chato Lozano, Vicky Cantada, Nina Lojo, Raj Mansukhani, Baby del Mundo, Maureen Sandejas, and Alex Tee. Their resource persons are Mon Abola, Gerry Gener, Choncho Sanchez and Josie Valderama.
